Dancing Classrooms

This year, all 5th graders at Dieringer Heights Elementary had the chance to participate in a brand-new program — Dancing Classrooms — made possible by funding from Dieringer Education Foundation donors. Without this support and the overwhelming success of the recent fundraising auction, the school would not have been able to offer this enriching experience.

Over the ten-week program lead by Pacific Ballroom Dance, students participated in lessons learning seven different dances from cultures around the world. The program culminated in both a school assembly and an evening performance, giving students the opportunity to showcase their skills.

Beyond dance, the program helped students build confidence, teamwork, and an appreciation for different cultures. As Dieringer Heights P.E. Teacher Monica Barker shared:

“Dancing Classrooms was a huge success for our 5th graders this year. What a great job they did at each performance. Another big THANK YOU to the Dieringer Education Foundation for funding this program!! What a great experience for our students!”
