The Dieringer Education Foundation was proud to fund a recent request from the North Tapps Middle School Bridges Program, supporting essential updates to the classroom’s life skills and sensory learning resources.
The Bridges room is a vital space where students learn and practice the everyday skills that build independence and confidence. North Tapps Principal David Uberti explained, “Our life skills course helps prepare our most impacted students as they work toward increased independence and sensory regulation.”
Thanks to Foundation funding, the program is now equipped with new small kitchen appliances — including a blender, hand mixer, air fryer, and electric griddle — as well as materials for independent work boxes, such as screws, bolts, buttons, snaps, and clothes pins. Additional items like a new laundry basket and blanket hamper were also provided to help make daily routines more accessible and meaningful for students.
“These new tools make a huge difference for our students,” said Uberti. “They allow us to expand what we can teach and give students real opportunities to practice everyday skills in a hands-on way. We’re so grateful to the Dieringer Education Foundation and donors for supporting our program and helping our students grow in independence.”
The Dieringer Education Foundation is honored to support the Bridges Program and their ongoing work to ensure every student at North Tapps has access to the best educational experience possible.
