Saving 6th Grade Camp

Oct 3, 2025

When state funding for outdoor education was cut late in the summer, the future of 6th Grade Camp at North Tapps was suddenly in jeopardy. With the start of the school year quickly approaching, there was little time to find an alternative solution. Thanks to the generosity of the Dieringer Education Foundation and its donors, this beloved tradition was saved—ensuring that every NTMS 6th grader could still attend camp during the first week of October.

For decades, 6th Grade Camp has been a hallmark of the Dieringer experience—an opportunity for students to explore nature, build friendships, and develop confidence as they begin their middle school journey. The Foundation recognized how important this experience is for our students and stepped in quickly to bridge the unexpected funding gap so that this year’s class didn’t miss out.

“Without the Dieringer Education Foundation stepping forward to provide these funds, 6th Grade Camp simply would not have happened this year. We are so grateful to the Foundation and its donors,” said North Tapps Principal David Uberti.

This support reflects the Dieringer Education Foundation’s ongoing commitment to providing the best educational experience possible for every student in our district—both inside and outside the classroom. Your generosity ensures that traditions like 6th Grade Camp can continue.

Join us at our upcoming fundraising auction, Raise S’more for Dieringer, this January, to celebrate and support programs that make experiences like 6th Grade Camp possible for every student.
